Abstract A series of 2′-bromo-biphenyl-2-ol compounds (3a~3i) were synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction of 2-hydroxyphenylboronic acid compounds with dibromobenzen compounds at 90 ℃ in the mixtures of toluene/ethanol/water, using Pd(PPh3)4 as the catalyst and Na2CO3 as the base. 3b~3i were new compounds. The structures were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and ESI-MS.
